Happy Birthday Sunita

Happy Birthday Sunita

The Johal family invites you to a surprise birthday party for Sunita!

Mum’s been cooking all day, and the family has just about made it on time. Everything is set, but Sunita is nowhere to be seen. As the curries simmer and rotis are smothered in full fat butter, years of family drama bubbling under the surface start to boil over. Today, four decades after arriving in this country, things are set to change…

From the producers of Britain’s Got Bhangra and Break The Floorboards, Rifco and Watford Palace Theatre bring you this new comedy drama about family. The show toured to Watford Palace Theatre, Arena Theatre Wolverhampton, West Yorkshire Playhouse Leeds, Oldham Coliseum Theatre, Watermans London, Mercury Theatre Colchester and Woodville Gravesend September and October 2014.

Presented by Rifco and Watford Palace Theatre in association with Arena Theatre, Wolverhampton.

‘Harvey Virdi's script with its sprinkling of Punjabi rings true and Pravesh Kumar's direction echoes this... Its strength is that the story and its characters are universal.
