Artistic Director Pravesh Kumar MBE founded Rifco Theatre Company in 2000 and we are now one of the UK's most successful touring companies. Since 2011, we have been the Resident Company at Watford Palace Theatre, with a mission is to inspire, entertain and inform by creating live theatre and digital content of the highest quality.

Rifco develops and produces new plays and musicals, touring nationally to some of the UK’s most prestigious regional theatres.  We present live shows of scale and spectacle as well as vibrant contemporary digital shows that are authentic, topical, thought-provoking, rich and entertaining. We seek to celebrate and reflect contemporary British Asian experiences, culture and society.

Pravesh’s own Indian heritage plays a fundamental role in the development of Rifco’s productions and subject matter, focusing on untold stories and under-represented voices. Headed by Associate Director Ameet Chana, we create opportunities for British South Asian artists through our Rifco Associates scheme, giving a platform to the new voices.

Our success lies in understanding artists and audiences, creating new work through listening and working alongside British South Asian communities. We believe in gently challenging perceptions and warmly reflecting the communities we know. We are committed to diversifying the kind of work seen in British theatres and we do this by commissioning British South Asian playwrights along with working with as many diverse actors, designers and directors that we can find.

Rifco Arts (t/a Rifco Theatre Company) is a charity, a company limited by guarantee and is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation.
