Amarjit Bassan - Playwright
Amarjit Bassan has been a professional actor for over a decade, performing in acclaimed productions on stage and screen. After graduating from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama he went on to work closely with many production companies including Tamasha, Kali and Rifco where he workshopped the production of The Deranged Marriage and toured with There’s Something About Simmy. He made his West End debut in Stephen Beresford’s critically acclaimed production of Twelfth Night. Amarjit has appeared in many TV productions including Messiah (BBC), Featherboy (ITV) and Black Books (Channel Four). He has acted in various shorts and appeared Jaab Tak Hai Jaan (Yash Raj), Leave to Remain, Henrique Goldman’s film about the killing of John Charles De Menezes. Amarjit’s writing debut Lalit’s Voice, was shortlisted by Film London's London Calling Plus Award and was selected by the British Urban film Festival to have a staged reading at Channel Four HQ.
